TIE ROADS
Tie rods, rivets and bolts to stabilize mountain slopes (especially in case of landslides), diaphragms, support walls and, more in general, any construction unable to offer adequate stability over time.
The technique employed is based on the drilling of bores (with diameters between 133 and 220 mm and lengths which, in the case of tie rods, can exceed 30 – 40 m).
The tie rod is inserted in the bore. The rod is made up of steel strands or bars fitted with an anchoring bulb and a free part which allow to stretch and lengthen the bar and to transfer the load on the ground behind, blocking the walls and ensuring in this way the load bearing capacity required.
