Ecological and biodegradable lubricants
Since 2007 the company has taken a path to gradually move from mineral hydraulic fluids to eco-friendly hydraulic fluids. These environmentally-friendly oils are employed on all the machinery used by the microtunneling department active in Italy (Shell Naturelle HF-E 68) and on some of the machinery of the foundations and underground department active in the construction site in Göteborg (Shell Naturelle HF-E 46, Panolin HLP SYNTH, Panolin ECOMOT 5W-30).
The main environmental benefits of these oils are biodegradability, low eco-toxicity, and the reduction of CO2. The employment of eco-friendly fluids ensures a lower environmental impact in case of spills into terrestrial and aquatic environments.
Particulate filters
Various equipment of the I.CO.P. machinery is fitted with “intelligent” engines to which a particulate filter is installed during production. I.CO.P. installs the Baumot BA-B filters for diesel engines on machinery that does not comply with these conditions and that works on construction sites where the reduction of pollutant emissions is required.
Thanks to this technology, a high percentage of particulate separation is obtained, leading to:
- reduction of diesel particulate matter by more than 99%;
- reduction of hydrocarbons (HC) by 87%;
- reduction of gaseous pollutants carbon monoxide (CO) by 97%;
- prevention of a rise in nitrogen oxide (NOx).
I.CO.P. also uses AdBlue on some diesel equipment, injecting it into the exhaust system. This is an aqueous solution of urea that transforms nitrogen oxides into nitrogen and water vapour by means of chemical reduction.
Photovoltaic
The company will install a photovoltaic system on the headquarter’s structures in Basiliano for self-consumption of solar energy.
