The R&D department is always looking for simple solutions to complex issues, with the aim of making possible the execution of commissioned works according to quality and economic criteria. New technologies are developed, which are suitable for a highly detailed and controlled design.
During its long history, I.CO.P. introduced into the national territory and more different techniques, being one of the first companies to build bridges with continuous deck, to introduce the microtunneling technology, to work in the deep foundations sector, to adopt the ground freezing technique.
It is a long time that the company cooperates with some suppliers of machinery and equipment. These collaborations have led to the development of equipment, tools, and machinery. Furthermore, the company has more than ten developed and own-registered patents.
The construction of the Logistic Platform of Trieste required the execution of 800 off-shore piles, without a fixed reference, at a distance of 10 meters, with a maximum tolerance of a few centimetres. On this occasion, the company designed and built a special “floating” jig, consisting of elements that can be rapidly disassembled and re-assembled, a hydraulic power pack and centering devices that in addition to providing precise positioning allow workers to operate in a comfortable safe and accurate way.
